An explosion occurred on Friday morning in a building in the Coyoacán area of Mexico City. Preliminary reports indicate the blast was caused by a gas accumulation. The incident took place at a building on Paseo de los Naranjos in the Paseos de Taxqueña residential area. As a result of the explosion, four people were injured and at least five homes were damaged. “The damage to the building where the explosion occurred is significant, so we ask the public not to approach the area,” the Coyoacán mayor's office reported. Emergency services, including the capital's fire department and the Secretariat of Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection (SGIRPC), arrived at the scene. A preliminary assessment is underway to assist the injured, assess the damage, and prevent further risks. Local authorities report that four people were injured in the incident.
